Automotive Borazon* CBN is extensively used in grinding wheels in the automotive industry for the manufacture of several powertrain components and accessory components made of ferrous materials. Application examples include: camshafts, crankshafts, fuel injectors, transmission parts, gears, CV joints, power steering pump parts and compressor parts. MBG* Diamond family of products have demonstrated performance excellence in the processing of automotive window glass, honing of cast iron cylinders and components made of non ferrous metal alloys and composites. BZN* Compacts and Compax* Tool Blanks are extensively used for machining applications in the automotive industry. Compax products are used in machining nonferrous components such as: transmission cases, bi-metal engine blocks, and pistons. Hard turning with BZN has become an industry alternative to grinding hardened shafts, gears, and sintered iron components. BZN is also used in machining cast iron engine blocks, pistons, and brake rotors. Borazon* CBN is the abrasive of choice in the aerospace and power generation industries for grinding gas turbine engine components like vanes, blades, nozzels, seals and turbine shafts. Grinding wheels made with Borazon CBN provide cost effective performance in grinding superalloy materials and stainless steel materials used in these applications. Borazon CBN is also widely used on the tips of turbine blades to generate close tolerance seal between the blade and shroud casing. MBG Diamond and RVG Diamond are used in grinding ceramic parts, composite materials and thermal spray coatings used in turbine parts. BZN* Compacts meet the challenge in machining superalloys and thermal spray components. Rebuilt gas turbine components are often repaired with nickel based thermal sprays and remachined to the original specification with BZN blanks. Bearing Borazon CBN products are well established in teh bearing industry to grind bearing rings, needle bearings and spacer disks made of hardened bearing steel materials. Borazon micron products are used in superfinishing of steel bearing races. RVG Diamond and MBG Diamond products are extensively used to grind ceramic bearing components, while Diamond micron products are applied in the superfinishing of ceramic bearing parts. Hard turning of hardened steel bearing components are done with BZN compacts family of products. MBS* Diamond characteristics of size, shape, impact toughness, fracture strength , and thermal stability meet performance demands in the construction industry. The unique properties of polycrystalline diamond in our Stratapax* Drill Blanks allows regeneration of the cutting edge during construction drilling. MBS* Diamond is specifically designed for high performance sawing and drilling applications such as: reinforced concrete, asphalt, wire sawing, multiblade and large blade slabbing in granite. Stratapax* Drill Blanks nd Geoset* Drill Diamond have proven success in surface cutting because of their long life and fast penetration rates in soft to medium hard formations. MBS* Diamond is specifically designed for high performance in core drilling in exploration mining. Bits using Geoset* Drill Diamond have performed mining rock such as sandstone, limestone, soft granite, siltstone, claystone, and shale. In dry and wet grinding for the tool and cutter industry, RVG* Diamond diamond provides unmatched performance in non-ferrous materials like cemented tungsten carbides, cermets, ceramics, PCD/PCBN and carbide/steel combinations. Borazon* CBN is the preferred abrasive for the manufacture and maintenance of HSS cutting tools, punches and dies. Benefits include improved geometric tolerance and consistency, and metallurgical integrity of the ground surface resulting in sharper, longer lasting tools. Milling and machining of hardened tool and die steels with BZN* Compacts offer superior finishes and reduced cutting times. BZN tool blanks, in the milling of large dies or molds, complete the entire mold surface without a single tool change. This eliminates additional polishing steps, dramatically reduces machining time/costs, and improves manufacturing capacity without additional machine tool purchases. Compax* Diamond Tool Blanks are key tools to use in primary wood product industries involving logging, sawing, and slicing of timber and secondary wood product industries for finished products, or intermediate components of finished products, for the consumer and industrial markets. |
