Aerospace & Power Generation

Borazon* CBN is the abrasive of choice in the aerospace and power generation industries for grinding gas turbine engine components like vanes, blades, nozzels, seals and turbine shafts. Grinding wheels made with Borazon CBN provide cost effective performance in grinding superalloy materials and stainless steel materials used in these applications. Borazon CBN is also widely used on the tips of turbine blades to generate close tolerance seal between the blade and shroud casing. MBG Diamond and RVG Diamond are used in grinding ceramic parts, composite materials and thermal spray coatings used in turbine parts.

BZN* Compacts meet the challenge in machining superalloys and thermal spray components. Rebuilt gas turbine components are often repaired with nickel based thermal sprays and remachined to the original specification with BZN blanks.

Bearing

Borazon CBN products are well established in teh bearing industry to grind bearing rings, needle bearings and spacer disks made of hardened bearing steel materials. Borazon micron products are used in superfinishing of steel bearing races. RVG Diamond and MBG Diamond products are extensively used to grind ceramic bearing components, while Diamond micron products are applied in the superfinishing of ceramic bearing parts.
